Help! can anyone recommend insurance? i have looked several medical insurance but how i know which is good like UK's BUPA?! Is it worth it to have full cover or part? especially with two young children with food allergies, they will need regular visit to specialist usually once or twice a year. I just been informed by fellow mum in NZ that there is 4-6months waiting to see paed by public system, but quicker by private, also to obtain special milk for my dd, i need to see paed to get the number for chemist, anyone understand?

A lot of people use a company called Southern Cross.
http://www.southerncross.co.nz/

Interestingly - if you are a member of bupa, you can transfer your membership history accross, so there is no stand down period before you can claim, and you can carry your pre-existing conditions over. Do talk to BUPA while you are still covered to check this (this info is from a few years ago when my parents were looking, and they havent needed to transfer yet, so it worth just phoning to make sure its still valid). They should also be able to tell you what you need to do to transfer this over.

We are souther cross members, but have yet to use them, so Im sorry I really cant say how good they are. We did look at alternative cover throigh a company called AIA, but it didnt give us the same level of cover as SC (we have VIP2 cover).
