Its my other half's birthday on Wednesday eve and he wants to go to really good italian restaurant, hopefully on the North Shore. Any ideas??

Not bothered about price, just as long as its good food and nice place!

This might be a bit out of the way, but last night we went to Pizzeria Venezia which is in Kumeu village, which is N.W. We go there often we find it good food and very reasonable, meal for two was 40 dollars. It is a place you would go often rather than a special occasion, type of place if you see what I mean, and it is B.Y.O.B.

Colleague at work has recommended the Tanti Baci at Red Beach shops even though is is slightly pricey. I haven't been yet but he says it's awesome.
