Has anyone used Greenacres services, particularly the domestic cleaning bit?

I think they are a franchise and I'm thinking of using them to clean the new place before we move in, as a treat for me. I'm trying to co-ordinate it from Welly before we move and there seems to be a general lack of domestic cleaning companies in our new area, Wanganui.

All comments welcome, good and bad please, particulary if anyone has used them in the lower/middle NI. :D

They quoted $30 an hour for cleaning a whole house plus $20 petrol money. Is that good, bad or average? Did they scrub up well? ;)

Hi Smiler,
yes, we have used Greenacres not so long ago, just two weeks ago actually when we had to clean up our rental for Harcourts. I did most of the job but they came to clean the windows and to do their magic on our very dirty carpets (carpet everywhere, in the bathroom, in the dining, etc.. imagine the disaster with 4 young kids prone to spillage, nose bleed and other nice specialities..).
Window cleaning cost 45 $ (it was a 3 bedroom bungalow with rather large windows)
Carpet cleaning was 125 $ (the guy had to use a special product on some stain that s why the price is a bit more than usual)
I phoned them on a Monday, they were friendly and reliable, easy going and I was surprised with the end result, I thought those stains were there for good.. It means we will get the full bond back, good stuff !
I didn`t do a research on cleaning service companies before using them, I just got their leaflet in the post, rang them, and I would recommend them (at least , I would recommend the team I got)
Happy cleaning..
Laura

Thanks Laura :nice1

They semed helpful enough when I spoke to them on the phone, knew the house, size of it, area etc. It's in the back of beyond so at least I know I'm not going to get a surprise extra charge for mileage.

They seem to be one of only two cleaning companies in Wanganui, so I'm gonna take a chance and treat myself. Can't be cleaning in 2 places at once, can I ;).

Thanks again for your help.

I use Select cleaning in Auckland and have been very pleased. They were recommended by a girlfriend who uses them as well. We have a 4 bedroom house and we pay $70 and they come every other week. Don't know if they are in your area or not but thought I would add my experience.

Thanks PCP. I'll look into Select as well, see if they are in the area. :nice1

Laura - can you provide the contact info for the Greenacres office you used in Chch? Thanks!

Just to point out Moorf, there is a central admin email for Greenacres, but they never replied. So I did the old fashioned thing and rang the Wanganui branch direct. :D
