Hi Everyone,

Its getting very exciting for us, we exchanged this morning on our house yip-heeee :yes Completion a week tomorrow. Bishops coming Wednesday and Thursday next week to pack our stuff to put in storage until we decide whether or not to come over without a job offer.

Staying with relatives while we decide.

Anyone who has been in similar situation, we would welcome any feedback/advise :cool

We are at the deciding a date for contract exchange but are gonna put our stuff with whites and get it started on its journey before we do - they say they can despatch it so that it will arrive when we do so that may be of some help to you - it roughly ( so they tell me) takes 6 -10 weeks to get it door to door - anyone else who can verify this please feel free to add any timescales.
so if you plan to go later maybe you could get it started off before you leave too.

Fortunately I have a job to go to BUT if I didn't I'd go anyway!!!!

If you can get the relavant visa why not and if your pretty confident that you can secure a reasonably paid job then go for it
I do stress this is just my opinion and I can be a bit gungho

I ended up getting 4 quotes from shippers, they all quoted the 6 - 10 weeks time scale door to door. They all also said that they could send the container 'just at the right time' so it would arrive just a couple of weeks after us.
