We have been in Northland over five years now and we have a 15 yr old boy so we may be of some help here.Where in Northland are you looking at? What are your occupations,do you want coastal, rural.Schooling could be the sticking point, sporty or academic tell me more.

hi

yes schools is an important factor of choice, Chris is in Art and Technical Design side, he does music as well and for sports it's judo and he just joined a rugby club, to be in NZ lifestyle. AH I forgot also in scouting group.

Haven't decided which region yet but warm climate and beaches will remind us of home . Need a Roman Catholic church nearby , area must be safe and secured and good population as we must also consider hubby's job, he will probably be on his own in computer service and repair.

Will be renting and was thinking of 250 - 300k

How expensive is life in NOrthland?

Hope I haven't missed something.

Hi,

I only emitgrated here a month ago but i'd imagine Whangarei should have everything you need, there are good beaches 20 mins away and Bay Of Islands is only 50 mins drive. There are 45000 people in the town urban areas and 65000 including local rural (so i'm told). Also i have seen a Catholic college in Maunu (which is a nice area 3ks from the centre on a bus route) called Pompallier college for 11-17 yr olds. Check out the council's website for info on whangarei www.wdc.govt.nz :nice1
