Hi,
Ok we narrowed down the areas where we want to find rentals to: onehunga, one tree hill, ellerslie and hillsborough(anyone want to comment on ther areas?)
We now need to know about day care for our 3 year old son in these areas and also the cost(it will be full day :( )

any help is welcome as it is scary thinking of leaving him somewhere unknown :(

pop onto the parenting board and see of any of those girls use a daycare around there, there are plenty of working mums on that site.

I know a couple of folks that have just gone back to work, and have found it a bit tough leaving the babies. They did trial days at a couple of different places before deciding where to go.

Difficult isn't it, trying to plan for all what lies ahead, with so many unknowns and questions. I can't comment on the areas you've mentioned, though they're not more than 20-30min drive from here - Howick / Bucklands Beach / Half Moon bay area. Our allmost 4 yr old goes 1full day a week to a private daycare www.frogpuddles.co.nz which I find of a very good standard. Their fees are on the website, and may be fairly general for the area. There's also a number of daycare's that are part of a franchise group, one of them is http://www.abclearningcentres.co.nz/index.htm not sure if they're in 'your' area but again, an idea for you.

Are you going to be working fulltime? If not I can highly recommend joining a local www.playcentre.co.nz . This will be great for you in the way of building up a new social life with other parents and also a chance for you to spend time with your pre-school child. Our youngest does 1 day at daycare, and 3 mornings at playcentre (only $40 a term!!)
