Hopefully someone can help me out because I'm at a bit of a loss. I have my job offer and other paperwork in hand now need my medical and xray. And this is where I hit a stopping point as I have no clue where to go for this. I do not have a regular doctor and since I have left my previous position I no longer have medical insurance. I tried calling a couple clinics, but they tell me they can't do it. I tried asking the consulate here in LA, but they tell me the same thing that's i the guide, that in the US their is no list of panel doctors. I'm hoping somebody can suggest a doctor who can do this in the Orange County or LA area where I can simply pay for it.
Thanks in advance.

Any Dr. can do it but I am guessing that not all are willing to do it. Just find an internist or GP in you local area. It is really just a basic visit with paperwork involved. I just went to a local guy in Park City and got lucky because he had done several of these type of application because a lot of folks in Park City come to NZ to ski.
Good luck, it really isn't a big deal.

You should be able to use your family Dr who is probably a General Practitioner; can you ask friends/family who their family Doc is? The GP usually sends you to a different place for X-rays and bloodwork, but the results come back to them and the Dr (GP) will go over them with you.

I just phoned around to family practices and told them that I needed a general physical. No problems getting appointment and I just told the receptionist that I would be bringing in the form for them to complete. Any GP can take care of the family history, basic physical, and blood tests, and refer you to have chest X-rays done.
The doctor I went to had never completed an immigration medical form before, so he but had me double check that everything was complete before I left. He actually didn't know that it would be for immigration purposes until I arrived but had no problems at all. It's a very similar form to the high schools' "Sports Physicals" that all athletes must bring to their GP.
Good Luck!

Hi from northern California -- wanted to share a tip on getting the NZIS form completed. It took my doctor an hour to get through it (maybe he was slower than some, but he was careful and thorough) and the receptionist hadn't allocated enough time on the first visit. Not her fault -- their office wasn't familiar with the form. If you have time, you might fax/email a copy to your doctor's office as fyi so they know what's expected.
I did end up making several trips to get all acccomplished, having not planned well for the blood test & xray that were needed in addition to the actual exam. Everything worked out, though. Good luck with your experience --

Thanks everyone. Finally got it done at a walk in clinic. Everything was on sight including the xray. Took about 2 hours. Had the lab and everything back the next day. It wasn't cheap, but it is done.
