Just thought I'd ask. No need for any explanations - I'm just interested in getting some idea of the split. Thanks.
ps. It may sound obvious but please only vote if you're in New Zealand.

Even though I miss aspects of the UK, I would never want to move back there permanently. I have learnt so much living in NZ, and love it (most of the time!). Going back to England for 3 months holiday this xmas to see the whanau, and going to get homesick for NZ I suspect!!!

Hey we're going back for 2 months over Xmas too. Very much doubt I'll get homesick for NZ but leaving the UK won't be such a wrench this time.

I have been here just over 10 months ,even though I'm not living in a lovely area [yet] ,I am loving our new lifestyle ,opportunities for the kids ,the weather [except this week brrrr],the house we are building ,the new people I meet from all countries and cultures .
I miss family and friends but am coping with good old internet chats ,and lots of family are or are planning to visit in the next year or two.

I voted undecided - maybe its a bad day, or maybe its cause I just had a rant on the Broadband providers on another post??? who knows Oh and I didnt get a job I wanted.... :( - well less stress but the 5mins comute and $6 extra wouldnt have gone a miss...I was second choice - it went to someone already working there!
Most of the time its YES
but I miss Rachel & Cole and not being to hold video conferecing is a drag and shes missing us all too.
On a positive note, I had a new lamb in the field this morning, I went out riding on the young mare last night with Rob on the big one...20yrs since he rode!
it was nice and she was nervous but ok for not having any attention for months on end :nice1
I am off to Queenstown next weekend..... :cheers so Its MOSTLY YES
oh heck off to do some work!
Kat.....seeing as I am still going to be working here! HA HA :p

I am so glad that I did not have to tick the "no" box, but it could so easily have been that way.....

voted Yes .............but on the negative/positive posts issue its often only the people with issues/strong views either way that post, theres a lot of content people who make up the silent majority that never bother posting. Bit like the news unless its dramatic its not worth publishing!!

Absolutely, totally, completely yes! Hit my one year anniversary this week and we love it. Still discovering things, took a stroll along the Wellington harbour hand-in-hand with my husband yesterday, looking forward to all sorts of experiences.

Have to be honest, I'm not suprised by the result of this poll. I can't see myself staying in NZ for ever but I will never regret making this move.
Maybe it would be interesting to have another poll asking all those who voted whether they intend to end their days here. I know I don't but I wouldn't have missed this adventure for anything.

I agree Diny - I voted Yes, but primarily because I have a personal policy of 'No Regrets' rather than because I am totally smitten with life in NZ.

I'm with you on this one :yes I also think it would be interesting to have a poll to see how many people think they'll stay. Either way, this poll shows we are all a pretty positive lot as most of us have no regrets.
I have great sympathy with those that wish they had never come here and hope they have the finances to change their situation.
