Just thought I'd make a quick post since my Dyson (at 3 years old) started making funny noises & I thought there will be a lot of you bringing them over wanting to know if you'd be able to get repairs done.(if you are bringing anything bring a Dyson - they are up to $900 here!!! new).

I phoned their customer service line in NZ & they sent by courier some labels & a courier prepaid tag - I had to pack the vac up myself, it was collected Monday night, Tue afternoon I had a call to say they had fixed it - $52 for a standard service (including courier to and from Auckland) and $60 for parts, which I didn't think was too bad really. It arrived back by courier first thing this morning (Thurs)

So if you're worried about Dysons being serviced here don't I found the service to be excellent. Word of warning - they only give a 2 year warranty on new product in NZ as opposed to the 5 years the UK gives.

Thanks for that Sarah - was going to get mum to bring a spare filter. Do you have the contact info / website for the people you used?

Contact details for me too please, my underneath bit that stops it eating cables and allows you to change between floor surfaces easily, has snapped, and I am not sure its glueable.... was going to order one from UK, but looks like I wont have to...

Helen, I'd still get people to bring filters etc. over if they're coming (you can buy filters in the shops here - think Harvey Norman & Noel Leaming sell them) because they'd be cheaper in UK, but if you need it fixing well worth it!

Rang them, and my soleplate was $49 plus postage, asked if I could collect, no probs, they are in Ellerslie. I just need to fit it now, its an easy enough job.

I don't think there can be too many Dysons sold in NZ as there are only three girls in there to deal with the phone enquiries/repair requests etc! With what looks like a pretty small repairshop/spares section out back.
