Anyone that has gone through or going through the process of moving the cat from the UK to NZ, I'm taking Noodles the Cat, and have all the Defra stuff, booked flights with Animal Airlines etc... but being a Sunday and the realisaiton that I need to get the first poo sample tomorrow, I had a fright reading the documentation from Defra, its says the sample must be taken and tested by a VLA, does that mean I can't get the sample and take it to the vet, will she need to stay at the vet and they have to get it?

Our cat, Pants, was great at holding his poo. I think he knew that we wanted it, and would hold it in on purpose. We were always taking it in a few days after the vet appointment.

its all going wrong, Noodles the Cat (her actual name is Ceefa, but we call her Noodles now - don't really know why?) she's been at the Vets since Monday, its now Wednesday, and she still hasn't poo'd! They gave her an enema yesterday afternoon (poor thing), so phoned up this morning all ready to collect her (assuming that worked) and found out she is refusing to poo!! They said they will now have to give her a mild sedative and go in to extract, oh poor thing, I know overall she'll be ok, but she's going to be realy grumpy when she gets home........ the cost of taking her is going up by the minute, and all the stress she's going through, I hope it doesn't change her personality! Anyone had similar problems?

I used to be a vet nurse and i can honestly say that cats can be the most frustratingly obstinate of animals when they want to be. The stress of being in the vets might be exactly what is putting her off poohing though.. esp. if she isn't eating properly in there.
I'm not looking forward to having to do my lot........ 4 cats and a dog......... oh joy.

Hmmm, I took my own samples to the vet and the vet was fine with that, and I've had all the tests back and the paperwork for export has just been completed, so as long as nobody grasses me up in the next 48hrs it seems I've got away with supplying my own cat poo samples!
