Hi Forummers,

My parents will be visiting us this December and they have to do a stopover for a rest in Auckland before they make their domestic transfer to Palmerston North. On one end, I would recommend them to stay at a motel/hotel near the airport which provide free transfer and hence stress free for them and on the other, they may want to see a little bit of Auckland. Any recoomendations on any airport or city accommdation that provide free transfers.

We've stayed there on several occasions and have always found it to be clean, friendly and good value for money. In fact we're staying there in a few weeks for the night before we fly out to the UK.

They offer a free shuttle service from the airport, all you have to do is give them a quick call on a freefone number and they are there to collect you within a couple of minutes. They will also shuttle you back to the airport for a very small fe ($3 I think).

I agree, let them get away from the diesel fumes and see something.

Google for: Auckland hotels "free airport shuttle." You will see that quite a few will pick you up from the airport.

Sorry - I was presuming Vincent's folks just needed a place to rest before jumping on their next plane to Palmy.

For a sight seeing city tour there's plenty of other places to stay, for a chance to get a few hours rest before moving on the above mentioned motel is fine.

I can also recommend the Kiwi International Hotel, also with a free shuttle (that is if they do not want to go into Auckland).
