Well they arrived this afternoon at 14:00 looking fully refreshed from their jaunts in Taipei......not. Well as i type this Julie is hovering, but by all accounts won't hover for much longer as she is about to nod off.

Anyway will leave you guys with the pic of them outside City of Sails, and will take a few more over the coming days.

Julie and Steve have now had a few days in NZ and are becoming a little more human in their endeavours to enjoy what NZ has to offer and why they have made this move. Yesterday we took them up to the BOP and the Mount, where Steve got to taste his first NZ sand, whereas Julie wasn't too bothered with it

steve and my youngest hayley searching for fancy shells

but before we hit Tauranga we stopped off near the top of the Kaimai's for some photo opportunities. Now anybody who has stopped off at this point will know about the views on offer.

Jeeze why can't you add more pic's:mad: will add the others on a reply.

Now not the kind of folk who go barmy for the beach, we then headed back home after a little jaunt and a bite to eat in the Mount, and dropped off at Mclaron falls which is just the other side of the Kaimai's. Quite stunning really and quite frightening when you think that should the siren sound and you have to leave the river bed immediately:eek:

Just off into Hamilton now so they can pick up their car they purchased on Thursday. Will try and get Julie to give you an update later today on their thoughts.

Knowing Julie's fear of water - I'd like to know how on earth did you manage to drag her down there?? Is the jet lag that bad her brain is not working properly???

Great photos Kim - nice to see you all looking so happy - and love your new hairdo Elaine! :)

Diny
28th October 2006, 09:25 AM
Yeah - wonderful pics.

Have had instructions not to take them to the beach when they call to see us due to Julie's dislike of the sea ...... ah well - there's plenty of cafe's and bars I can take them to.

Looks like you're all having a great time - look forward to the update.

love those waterfalls.....I like water, hence we moved close to the sea, Or if I was mega rich...it would be around Queenstown now Steve would love there......but theres plenty of pubs for Julie....A nice Irish one called Pugs Malone, serve Steak/Venison etc on a Hot Rock which you cook yourself.....Yummy it was, and the view was great from the veranda.

Look forward to reading a post on their first impressions,

Kat

Just had a BBQ in their honour. Invited some of our brit friends that are here in TA and introduced them all to each other, as we just wanted them to feel more relaxed in these strange surroundings.

Kim39
14th November 2006, 08:26 PM
Last we heard from them they were down in Fielding. They were seeking a rental and looking to settle there. They had run down from our place and took in NP, Straford, Eltham, Wanganui, and one or two other places before hitting Ashhurst and Diny's. From there they started to look around.

Sorry Moorf but thats all i have at the mo.

Well I can confirm that yes - Julie and Steve are in this area. It's not my place to tell you all thier news - but they have some exciting snippets to report.

I'm seeing them tomorrow out at the airport when we go to welcome Marcia & Kev. They're staying with us for the weekend - hopefully having a BBQ for the
Beaumont-Smiths if the weather holds ..... if not we'll have an indoor lunch. No doubt Julie will spend a few hours trawling the forum when she's here over the weekend so she can fill you all in.

I can tell you - they're very happy with their choice of location (Feilding) and seem very relaxed.
