My wife has been offered a job in a low decile rating school in this area of South Auckland, Papakura High School.

We have been warned off South Auckland in the past but wondered if anyone could give us a better idea. We would be travelling in from Howick if we went for it.

Don't know if this helps....

My OH got offered a job near Papakura a couple of months ago. So when we were out there 3 weeks ago we checked it out.

To be honest we were not that impressed, in our opinion it looked a bit run down and there was alot of graffitti.....that's in comparision to the rest of Auckland.

The news tells storys of lots of gang problems in that area...but I have to say we did not really see any when we were there.....but we were not really there long enough...

In the end we did not take the risk and decided to decline the offer.

I don't know what you are looking for in NZ....but for us it was a bit to much like what we are trying to escape. ;)
