Hi peeps.
I am leaving the RAF and coming to join the RNZAF in May next year, coming with my wife and 3 girls.
I will be posted to Auckland (Whenuapai) so if anyone has any good advice about living in that part of Auckland please feel free to PM me.
Look forward to "meeting" you all.
Have got as far as acceptance and Visas issued.
NEQ.

Congratulations on your acceptance - welcome to the forum - can't help you with Auckland but there are loads of Auckland-ites on the forum who will be along soon to help no doubt!
Good luck with the rest of your plans! :)

Hi NEQ
Can't help with Auckland either sorry, but wanted to say welcome to the forum :cheers:cheers
There are a couple of soon to be RNZAF people though. Dawn's hubby Chris and I think Keith, of Keith&Debby fame. (If I'm wrong apologies, it's early :laugh)
Good luck with all your plans.

Hi there, don't know anything about Auckland, but I thought I'd stop by and say hi seeing as Smiler "outed" me lol
My hubby will be in Ohakea, not Auckland, just thought you might like to know, there's been talk of them closing the Auckland base and moving it all to Ohakea (near Palmerston North), so you may want to investigate Manawatu also.
Welcome to the forum :D

Yes I had heard that Whenuapai was going to close. I have to decide now if we should go into married quarters at Whenuapai and let my savings make some interest and wait to see what happens or go ahead and buy a property in Auckland knowing full well we'll be moving again sometime in the future.
It's going to upset the kids schooling whatever happens. Mind you if the RNZAF works like the RAF then it'll either close really early or stay open forever. ;)
