As if the stress levels are not high enough (feel like a boiling kettle at the moment, one wrong word from anybody and I'll snap!!)
The flippin central heating boiler decides to spring a leak and gush water all over, (thankfully it's in the cellar but Kev's boots were underneath it!!! - One less thing to wash off I suppose! :o ) the service people can't mend it without getting authorisation from the insurance as the part - think he said the tank is over £100, so we have to wait till Monday! :(
Suppose one consolation is it went whilst we were here and able to deal with it, not my dad having to sort it out!!
Ah well onwards and upwards :exit - I must reach the top of this mountain eventually - hope the view is worth it in the end!!!! :roll

You must be feeling very stressed at the moment - poor thing. Just think, not long to go and all the stress will have been worth it! :D

Look at this way mate ...... having to live in a freezing cold house for a while will be wonderful training for when you're survivng winter in an NZ house !!!!
I agree though - good job it went kaput now rather than after you've left.
Hang in there.

Have a glass of wine, sit down, and forget about it until monday, the kids can live without baths for a night or two, and get them into their thick jammies for bed!
Like Diny says, its good practice!

Must make dealing with NTL seem like a holiday!!!!! :-)
hang in there Marcia, not long to go. Living in a cold house will make you appreciate that warm NZ sun that bit more when you arrive!!!!!

yep I agree....good training for an NZ heated house!
Our electricity connection went on Labour Day....we got back from Queenstown to no power and the cable that is attached to the house was sparking!....so I am waiting for the bill from the Emergancy repair man, who spliced the cable and joined it back together with huge clamp like things.....he said that should hold till you get a registered electician in to do a proper repair, I'm not allowed to touch the house as its your responsibility...I can fix the Electricity providers end!
So I have to pay for an electrician to come and do the same thing but actually attach it to the box that is attached to the rafters, rather than where he spliced it to the cable!!
well, I asked the guys at work, how long they thought the temporary repair would last....they said, as long as you want it to!

Chin up Marcia, just look at it as one little thing that would have happened anyway, emigrating or not. Would you have felt so stressed if it had happened another time???
See you next weekend in the boozer ;)

Hang in there Marcia.
You'll be on your way soon enough and hopefully all this will be a distant memory. :D Not very helpful when you're in it, I know. :o
