Out of the apartment. Last day of work is Thursday. Gotta drive our dog up to Dallas on Friday and ship her to my parents on Saturday while we wait out the 6 month microchip requirement.
Then I'm off for a week and on Nov 13th we fly first class to LAX and Pacific Premium on AirNZ to Auckland.
I could cut the anticipation with a knife. My wife and I can't wait. I think we're going to be very bored and anxious next week sitting around her parents place.
Two more weeks!!! Wellington, here we come.

Job Offer: 10/1
Work Visa: 10/18
Leave USA: 11/13
Welly Arrival: 11/15
Wow - doesn't that just show how quickly it can happen!
Good luck to you both - you'll be there in no time (and by the way I'm green with envy over you going first and pacific premium)
Hope it all goes well for your move.

We don't normally travel first but the tickets were so cheap to LAX from Houston we decided to upgrade, what they hey!
Pacific Premium sounded really ideal, it's perfect between economy and business. It's a 12 hour flight so we wanted to treat ourselves to a little bit of luxury, even if it wasn't business. Plus, I'm a tall guy and I usually don't fit very well in the economy seats.

It sure does. Unfortunately the day we want to fly we can only get pacific premium flights via LAX and i'd rather do economy via Hong Kong than have to go via LAX. I presume its different if you are starting the international leg of your journey there but transit just sounds awful. Not to mention the whole fingerprinting thing!! So we'll put up with economy.

If I were flying from the UK, I'd consider flying Emirates....sounds like they have good service.
I need to figure out what I'm going to do during the 12 day shutdown for the Xmas holidays. Perhaps I should go down to Chch for a weekend? I bet the ferry and train are pretty scenic.

The next 2 weeks will fly by - just you wait and see. Hope it allgoes well and that you have a great time.
By the way - Emirates are great. The kids and I are flying to UK in 4 weeks time with them, have used them heaps of times before .... have to say though - Singapore Airlines tip the scale for me.

I hope so, because it's absolutely dreadful being at Lori's parent's house. No movie channels, just a bunch of US cable crap. At least there is a DVD player and wireless internet....thank god, or I would go mad. Oh, and I'm reading David Baldacci's The Camel Club.
