Hi everyone,

Wasn't sure which was the best section to put this one in...

OH and I had a heart-to-heart the other night and decided that we're going to delay going to NZ for a couple of years until his daughter is a bit older. Right now, we think she'd find it a bit hard to have him living so far away. Anyway, this all opened a huge can of worms. He is REALLY DEEPLY unhappy being a teacher, has been teaching for 17 years and is miserable with the way that things have been going in education. He thought he could hang on until we got to NZ in the hope that things would be better, but we don't get the impression that things will be any different over there.

So he has made a decision to retrain in wildlife conservation, with a particular focus on birds, and is currently applying for courses in the UK. However, are there likely to be many jobs in NZ in this area? He still wants to move at some point, but I have doubts that he'd find work as easily as he perhaps would if he went over as a teacher. Money is not a big issue and he's not particularly ambitious, just wants to do a job he enjoys. His ideal situation would be working somewhere like the Mount Bruce Natural Wildlife Centre, but I bet there's not many jobs going in a place like that!

Hi Debbie,

Saw this whilst looking for something for OH & I:

http://www.seek.co.nz/users/apply/index.ascx?Sequence=80&PageNumber=1&JobID=7988739

www.seek.co.nz seems to be the place for these types of jobs - I've seen a number of them on there in previous months.

Good luck!!
