All,

when we were at the NZ Expo at Earls Court. The NZIS guy said that if you are awaiting your ITA in the post you can start getting things ready such as meds etc.

Question is do you need any specific paperwork from the ITA to take with you?

Linda, where did you have yours done??

Thanks

Jo

Hi Jo

Regarding meds. You don't need specific ITA paperwork to take with you for your meds. You can download the medical froms from the NZIS website, however, the clinic we went to sent us a set of the forms for each person. We were required to fill out as much of them as we could before the appointment. I don't know whether all the panel clinics do this or just the one we went to.

One thing to bear in mind though, the medicals must have been done within the last 6 months at the time of applying. I know this really won't make much of a difference to you, but it's worth bearing in mind should you anticipate any hold ups before sending your ITA.

Hope this helps.

Hi Jo,

Dinny was lucky (or maybe we were unlucky) - we got no forms through the post but downloaded the forms from the web easily. Had the x-rays a couple of weeks back and meds are tomorrow (had a couple of weeks of hols in between).

I'd recommend getting booked in as there was a 3-4 week waiting list with our Panel Dr...

Good luck :hopeso

Hi All

Diny - The Medical Certificates have to be no older than 3 months, and the Police Certificates 6 months.

Cheers

Jo,
we had our meds done before ITA and all seemed to go okay.
Tried the Liverpool place and no joy until november ( asking in Sept for appointment!!!)
Manchester place gave us an appointment 1 1/2 weeks after asking.
Be prepared fort he cost £369 for us three.
the NZIS website has the adresses and contact numbers of the places they say you can go to.

Hope this helps
Love Linda

Ps will be back on forum later as I'm in a tizzy at the moment - our buyers want to complete in 2 weeks!!!!!

Oh, and don't worry if you have already opened your med reports (like we did  ) - whilst they do ask that they be sealed we HAD to open ours to present to immigration for Woz's visa so now we have an excuse as to why the seal is broken ... whew!!

Diny

Our med forms weren't in a sealed envelope - there they were - for all to see. And very boring they were too.

Ohhh ours were sealed and signed across the seal by the Doc and then stamped across the seal by the surgery!! :?

And ours were remarkably boring too - thank god!!

Moorf,
Ours were sealed too and signed and dated etc. and the doc put the fear of the almighty up us by saying " if you open them you'll have to have them repeated"

The temptation was excrutiating!!!!!!

When we had our meds I spoke to the girl who was doing all the sorting of the paperwork. I asked her if the reports had to be sealed. She said that they do immigration meds at that clinic for a number of different countries. Australia, New Zealand, Canada (to name just 3) all stipulate that the reports are sealed and must NOT be opened by the applicant. She said that NZ don't demand sealed reports.

I've known of some folks who have sent sealed reports and some who have sent open reports - guess it just depends on your panel doctor. I haven't had any irate person from the NZIS giving me a rollocking for sending 'open' reports (as yet).

If you get handed a sealed packet it might be because it's ok.
For my one of my son's and myself ,we had to get dicharge leters from surgeon, and mediction letters from docs. The woman just gave the medicals back in an unsealed packet. with all the letters and notes signed ,stamped and perfumed by the doc.

Just had a quote from Liverpoll for our Mess £110 per person for Adult and £55 for kids total £330.

Sounds reasonable compared to what Linda paid.

What do you lot think??

Jo,
Just check that that includes your Xrays too. Thse also have to be done for your med but most offices don't have faciltiies and you go somewhere else.
I probably am teaching my gran to suck eggs here saying that Sorry if you already have!!

Don't know whether you can be bothered to add an hour onto your journey, but the panel clinic where we had out meds done is quite abit cheaper than that. Plus .... they have an x-ray suite there and it's all done under one roof at the same time.

Typically I can't remember the exact amount I paid but I think it was in the region of 85.00 per adult and 35.00 (ish) for the kids.

Anyway - total price for ........ 1 x adult medical, 2 x kids medicals & 1 x-ray came to 195.00. This included paying for return post recorded delivery.

I know that Blue had her meds done there too and also Pamela and family. As far as I know they got on fine.

You could always combine it with a visit to us, drop in for lunch/dinner or crash here for the night if you like. They even do meds on a Saturday.

Let me know if you need any more info.

Hey Pam ... this has got me thinking.

I didn't have to have a test because of my tattoo.

Maybe it's because the doc didn't see it (it's situated where the sun don't shine :eek )

Best thing for me is to shut up and say nowt !!!

Diny

p.s How's the plans coming along?

Hiya,

With regards to the earlier line of this thread... just incase anyone has had a panic today like me about whether or not the meds should be in a sealed envelope or not, I happened to be called by NZIS case officer this afternoon and she confirmed that it didn't matter if it wasn't in a sealed envelope or not. :nice1 Phew!

Hi all,
We're thinking of booking our Med appointments, but however hard I look on the NZIS site, I just can't seem to find the panel list  Ok, I must be either blind or thick (don't answer that one) as you've all found it. Would really appreciate it if you could guide me to the right place on the site, or even let me know the link.

Thanks a bunch :nice1

hi babette.

just type "panel doctors" at the nz website and the URL will appear

I am also going to take the medicals next week eventhough I havent received my ITA yet so that when it finally arrives I already have the results. On the other hand, if the medical results would prove that I would need to undergo some treatment (hopefully not! :hopeso ) atleast that will eat up my waiting time for the ITA.

Thanks Cathy, will try this shortly (though pretty sure I must have tried this search combination already). If I get stuck I'll humbly ask for more help
