Various friends and family have been asking about online shops they can use to send christmas pressies and therefore avoid the hassle of going to the post office (especially when the kids want a trampoline!). So I thought we could maybe get a list together.

It would be helpful if you can say what type of stuff it sells, if its been successfully used, and what area you had it delivered to.

I'll start:

www.stoffels.co.nz - Department store, sells allsorts
- Delivers Nationwide
- Ordered from NZ, no problems

www.realgroovy.co.nz - Books, music, DVD, Computer games
-Delivers Nationwide
- Online vouchers ordered from UK, no problems

www.toyplanet.co.nz - Toys
- Delivers Nationwide
- Not used

Any other suggestions?

Cheers

Tia

I found this site somewhere but haven't used it, so I can't give a personal testimonial on it, but I thought it might be helpful:

Oh, Kat, big hugs...

Kiddy toys try www.groovybaby.co.nz cheap and efficient! www.kiwibaby.co.nz, also efficient, and also on the north shore (Just for you tia...) ooh, and www.winkalotts.co.nz are good too, are generally one of the cheapest..

I have a better list on the big pc, so will add to this tomorrow..., this is just my fave baby ordering sites! The rest of the list includes more grown up ones.

Re: www.Toyplanet.co.nz, I regularly use the toy hire side of this store and they are good for that, so hopefully would be good for delivery of new stuff too.

going the other way with stuff for us to send to family in the UK we tend to use www.IWANTONEOFTHOSE.com (or www.iwoot.com) lots of gimmicky stuff and good stocking type fillers, have had no probs with them.

Something I picked up in the Post Office here the other day was info on a Prezzy Card.

It's basically a disposable credit card that you give to people and they can use it on anything. Can be used anywhere where Visa is acceptable.

I was really happy with The Baby Factory, if anyone on your list is expecting or has a young baby. We bought gift certificates and had them sent to our friends in Auckland, who are expecting at the end of January.

Ha ha - Kat, sorry about that, but I was just wrapping stuff to send back before the 11th and it was on my mind!

Veronica - that's a brill site, particularly as it delivers to the channel islands where we have family, and we normally find it difficult to find companies that will deliver there.

Moorf - prezzycard is a good idea also, not quite as rude as saying 'just send us the cash'!

I've added all the others to an email I'll send out nearer the time.

Keep 'em coming

Cheers

These are untested, but I found them last year before we decided that noone wanted to do adult pressies any more, and the kids were just getting money!
