Hi everyone
I am hoping someone can help me locate a thingy whose name I don't even know. It is a stretchy ring that you put over your arm to shorten the sleeves of your pullover. They fit snuggly on your arm, allowing you to bunch the pullover (or indeed blouse) above them, and keeping the sleeve off your wrist. These things were around in the 80s and they come in silver, gold, black etc. They can be plastic or metal.
My mother loves them and would like me to find them for her. Can anyone help me with their name - so I can look them up on the internet. And even better, do you know who stocks them in NZ or anywhere in the whole wide world?
Many thanks in advance!

Oooh - I just got a blast from the past when I read this thread.
I had a gold pair (well - gold colour) - my fave outfit was an emerald green silk over shirt - worn with the arm bands - black leggins and black ankle boots. The outfit was finished off with a yellow silk paisley waistcoat (which of course was alot shorter than the shirt).
Oh - and don't forget the big hair !!!!!!!!!!
Loved the 80's - they were MY times.

Diny, your outfit sounds just lovely. Why ever did you stop wearing that stuff? And was there a bit of lace involved too, for example a black or white lace choker around your neck or wrist? Mmmmhh, lovely.
OK, does anyone know where I could buy these lovely braces in NZ? I have looked on Trademe but so far no luck. I was hoping a big Farmers might still have them. Or a department store?
Thanks,
Rose

I was unable to find a NZ source for these.
sleeve garters (http://www.google.com/search?q=%22sleeve+garter%22+OR+%22sleeve+garters% 22)
This company has metal ones, but you'd have to contact them to see if they'll ship internationally:
John Helmer (http://www.johnhelmer.com/prod.itml/icOid/108)
eBay UK armbands or arm bands (http://clothes.search.ebay.co.uk/arm-bands-armbands_Clothes-Shoes-Accessories_W0QQsacatZ11450QQsatitleZQ28armQ20band sQ2cQ20armbandsQ29)
I hope this might be of assistance!

I will bite the bullet and spend the GBP 8.99 plus postage on these fab items. At least I will win brownie points with mum.
Thanks!
