Sorry if this is somewhere in the Forum - but I have some questions from a pair of new bods!
Have just sent in EOI 115 points - so fingers crossed!
Should I now sort out police checks and medicals to get ahead of the game? And can all that stuff be found out on the NZIS website?
Also, when do you have to send off your passport? And how long to they keep it? Was thinking of getting a skiing holiday in sometime around February!
Thanks,
Susie ;)

Police checks and medicals are only valid for a short period of time (I can't remember now exactly how long, it's been so long since we applied) so you risk wasting money if you don't get your ITA within that time.

Hi there Susie
The medicals are only valid for 3 months. I can't remember how long the Police Checks are valid for - definitely longer than the medicals (6 or 12 months I think). Even once the EOI has been accepted it has been taking up to 3 months to receive the ITA.
I'm sure someone from the forum will be along to give you more accurate details.
Oh... and welcome to the forum.

We had a Top Tip from Marcia, don't send your passports in - send certified copies (a Solicitor will do this for you) you then get to travel on hols etc while the NZ wheels turn - and are quite slow. They don't need the originals to process your application and you don't pay the migration levy until you send the passports in which is after they have awarded you PR, WTR or go away we don't want your sort in NZ - You get my drift.
It also buys you six months extra time which will come in handy if you have a house to sell or other ties that may take some time to sever.
We did it initially because I only have 8 months left to run on my passport so want the shiney blues in my new passport.
Others on the forum have more experience than me and may have some additional advice for you.

Thanks for all the help. Will hold off with the medicals as just found out that I will have to wait for my physiotherapy registration to come through before I can complete the ITA and send it back. Hopefully - and I am an eternal optimist - we might have some more stuff to do in January.
Anyone been to The Bridge Clinic in Maidenhead for medicals? It seems to be our nearest place.
And extra good news - just logged on to the NZIS website and found out our EOI has been selected!
Any idea how you let the NZIS know any change in details - hope to get a job soon!
Cheers,
Susie
