Yes, we all hope the weather will be nice around Christmas - but if you want to be sure to BBQ on the beach, you'de better move to Oz.

It is a nice thought, but also temper that with the fact that your family may be a loong way away, tend to put a bit of a dampener on things. Not wishing to be a killjoy though Natalie!!

Yay... I can't wait! Hopefully it will be sunny in Hawke's Bay, if not I bet it will be warmer than mid winter in the UK. :)

Having moved over to NZ in February and back to UK in September I can honestly say I am really looking forward to Christmas this year. The thought of Christmas Day being in summer and being away from all my loved ones was just one of many things which meant that life in NZ was not for me.

Good luck to all of you that can make a new life over there though x

I'll bet you're excited Natalie. I was so excited at xmas last year, thinking that next year, I'd be away from it all. By hook or by crook, we'll be having a bbq on xmas day - if it rains, I just send Craig out to barbie the food and get wet and we can all eat indoors! We're meeting a group of friends on the beach later in the day (getting organised already) and I'm hoping it'll be a great day that doesn't feel at all like Christmas!!

Good to hear from you, Ali and nice to know that all's going well.

This will be our third Xmas here and we've got no complaints! Can't say it was sun-bathing weather on either though, but certainly warm enough, albeit cloudy, for an outdoors bbq. Both occasions were spent outdoors, away from the telly, off the sofa. A change is as good as a rest and after 35 Xmas's in the UK NZ's Xmas in summer is a refreshing change (and that is, afterall, what we came here for!).

Xmas shopping the the sun sure beats a miserable tromp round the stores in winter, too! :D

Hi Diny and Kate

Me and the kids are fine thanks. Sooooo glad to be back where we belong. Have settled into a lovely house and am in the third week of a new job as a Teaching Assistant which I'm really enjoying. The kids are thoroughly settled into school and Sam is busy applying to universities for next year.

We only got the computer up and running last week (couldn't find half the bits when the container arrived!!!) so I like to check in on the forum now and again and keep up with everybody's adventures.

Lots of love Alison x
