Hi all,
Can anybody point me in the right direction  With the med`s do you have to go along with the NZIS list of panel doctors or is it possible to go via your own GP who will then direct you to your local hospital for the x rays etc.
Has anybody been able to go down this route for the med`s.
Spoke to some guy in Auckland immigration and he seemed it was possible to go through own GP but wasn`t 100% with this. :?

Hi Kim
I am sure although not done them yet myself, The medicals have to be done by the docs on NZIS List.
Someone correct me if I am wrong! :?

Hi,
If in the UK, you must use an NZIS approved doc.
If in NZ, any doc will do.
On the NZIS site you need to look for countries that use panel doctors.
This is very slow:
http://www.immigration.govt.nz/referencedata/default.aspx?level=3&ref=10&displayname=Panel%20Do ctors#top
Look at appendix 3 on page 15

Steve is right on the money!
You must use a doctor from the NZIS approved panel list!

Just had our medicals last week (me and 2 sons). They MUST be done by an NZIS panel doctor (both medical & x-ray).
The total cost for us was 195.00 - both of my boys are under 15 so didn't need an x-ray.

Hello there
I'm new to the forums and my apologies if I've missed this answer in another posting, but judging by the NZIS website it looks like in the USA you don't have to use a panel doctor, as there are none listed! If this is so and the NZIS states that they "need to have a doctor assess your health and fill in New Zealand Immigration Service medical and chest x-ray certificates" how does my non-panel doctor do this, can I get forms from NZIS for this or will just a letter from my doctor suffice??
Also does anyone have any clue how much this costs, I'm actually British but am living in the USA right now and am a little scared by how much any medical activity that's not covered by my insurance will cost?
Cheers!

when we first tried to find the panel doctors list on the NZIS page we couldn't find it. but I would be surprised if there wasn't one for the US. Might be worth another search, or failing that a phone call to NZ embassy in the US just to clarify it.

We didnt use a panel doctor just our own G.P.(only because we didnt read it correctly)I was worried, phoned N.Z. house the next day and they didnt seem in the least bit bothered.Sent a covering letter just in case though. We have all documents back so I persume they are all in order and they say theyll be in touch soon. So it cant be such a huge crime. The X rays were done at an approved hospital luckly although we didnt know that at the time
