Is it possible to buy good quality Hi-Fi separates (i.e Denon) in NZ, without too much trouble?

I think you can but not without serious cash - just had a look at Dick Smith electronics but that seems to be the standard consumer type stuff, probably best to go to Richer sounds or somewhere like that before you go!!

But there are plenty of Denon dealers there, so if that your thing have a look on Google.

There's a Bose shop, but I haven't seen any Denon - its all Panasonic/Technics or Sony etc.

I expect you'd pay a premium to import - we just gave up on getting a decent stereo & bought a Hard Drive DVD with jukebox to play through the sound system (but when we looked, the speakers had all been shipped from the UK!!) I'd certainly recommend buying something before you come out here - just be aware that there may or may not be a service centre out here & fixing/parts could be expensive... that's something you should check out before buying - also (like I found out with my Dyson vac & DVD player) if you're moving outside of the region your warranty may become invalid.
