Just thinking about getting old in another country... :uhoh

We were wondering what's happens with pensions in NZ?

We have been paying towards our state pension as well as a private Occupational pension whilst in the UK.

Are we correct in saying that we can freeze our occupational pensions and just let them grow...

But what about the contributions we have already made to our state pension?

Also is an occupational pension part of the standard works packages in NZ?

I'm just wondering the same thing - there are companies & banks who specialise in transferring UK pensions over to NZ - so I'm just collecting statements from my pension schemes & will get someone to tell me what I can do & what they'll be worth... To be honest we want to retire at 50 but I don't reckon they'll give us much at that age so are going to buy some property as well as a pension...

Will let you know what happens, but would be also interested to hear from others who have found out about it already...
