OK I know most of you guys are coming from the Uk to NZ but one or two of us are going the other way for a number of reasons! Anyhow, I am curious to learn if anyone out there has exported their car (purchased in NZ) into the UK. Can you tell me what you have to do this end....UK end; and I know this sounds a bit stupid but do you have to ensure all finance (if any) is fully paid and what checks are used to determine this is the case....I only owe a small amount and would rather keep NZ bank account going to continue few remaining payments???????
Cheers

Hi Colin, can't help with the car I'm afraid but would assume it is similar rules to bringing one here, ie just get UK MOT and not allowed to sell it for a couple of years. That's what we had to do with hubby's motorbike when we brought it here.
I was wondering if you would mind letting me know what shipping firm you will be using. We will also be going back to the UK in June and need to start thinking about shipping the items we don't sell here so the hunt for reasonably priced firms is soon to begin.......
Good luck
Louise :)

Hi Louise
Haven't really started to look at shipping companies just yet, I am hoping that any new employer will assist with relocation. I have however asked for a quote from this company www.nzbaggagemovers.co.nz
We were supposed to be going to the USA but it has all fallen through and this outfit would have got all our stuff (minus the car) to the US for around 6K that was for us to Pack, load and unload at destination. As most of our stuff is packed up I will be seeking a quote to travel to the UK from them.
A co-worker is heading back to the UK at the weekend I understand he is using Prices after getting quotes from them, Pickfords and Crown.....
Best Regards...

Thanks Colin, I'll look into them. I thought I'd read a post from you saying you would be going to the US - sorry it hasn't worked out.
Hope your journey back home is a good one!
Louise :)

Hi
We are fairly new to this forum and just beginning the process of trying to get to NZ. I was wondering why you are coming back to the UK? (if you don't mind me asking) :roll
Sorry don't have much advice/help to offer!
