hi all, new to the forum but basically we are only a few days away from hearing if my OH is going to be offered a position with NZ police, ever so slighly nervous!!!!!!!! Is there such a thing as a logical order in which to do things? We have 2 children (3yrs & 6mths) and all our money is tied up in the house, although we can borrow to pay for the things req'd. I know that if Dan is offered a position he has to send back a GP report & optician report but hopefully we can sort those out within a week. but after that ?????????????? Im assuming AOI,medicals, valuation on house but after that I just dunno! If succesfull we are told it will be either Auckland or Hamilton and anytime from July 07-July 08 although he was asked at interview if we were interested in April. Thats very soon and I don't even know if we could have everything done in such a short time. Don't even know how long things take to process, do you think that a job offer with a start date would hurry things along? We are literally praying for a yes coz now we have started looking into it we wanna go badly, Im a nurse so hopefully I will get work pretty easily once kids are settled.

Any advice, helpfull hints or people in same boat very very welcome, we are very new to this and are still getting the hang of things!

Thank you :)

Hi again, Join the gang, it is a bit hit and miss at the best of times, especially trying to jiggle time and all the bits and pieces together. But if you have a confirmed job offer, you will be fast tracked through the system - don't worry on that score.

EOI is hopefully going/gone in. You can add details later on or in the ITA stage if you get selected, but I don't think you will have any problems. Stick with it you'll be fine, again, welcome to the emigration rollercoaster :)

Hi there,
Once you've submitted your EOI with a job offer, things move at a frightening pace! Medicals can be arranged quickly, but, the police checks can take 40 days ( but your hubby probably already knows that! )
I'm a nurse and I'd advise you to apply for your NZ nursing registration as soon as possible as this can take months to be processed.
Welcome to the forum!

if the job offer is there and you want to get here sooner I would have thought that you could be offered a straightforward work visa that could be converted to perm. residence later. If all else fails then I would think that you could get here just as easily on your nursing side of things. like everywhere they are desparte for nurses here.
