Hi,

Can someone tell me how I go about getting the police checks done? What do I ask for, and do we both have to go into the Police station to get the forms or can I get them for both of us? and finally, is there a way of getting it done on line? ( Which would be the easiest option?)

(hope you don't mind me looking at some of your earlier posts to try and work out which constabulary it was)

every police force has a link to something like this from its front page so if i got the wrong one there'll be one on your local force's page.

We went into our (very small) police station last week and picked up the form for my OH.
Took it back the next day with £10, passport and bank statement (anything with your name and address) and they ticked the boxes to say she was who she said she was and said they'd contact us within 40days and to come back in if we haven't heard.

We're in Humberside, so hoping the lack of probably applicants for immigration might speed things up a little!

We down loaded the forms from our local consabulary website and posted them to the address provided with a £10.00 fee and then we received a letter telling us that they would take 40 days for the reply but I think in the end we had them back within the month. (Obviously we have been good so they did not have to do much searching) :)
