Well, all my things are on their way! I am sitting on deckchairs and sleeping on a blow up bed. It will be this way for the next 4 weeks and then we go and spend a couple of days with my mum and dad, then on to Ian's mum. I should feel excited but I don't. The house has exchanged and will complete on the 1st December. Flights and hotel are booked, hire car arranged. I have a job and somewhere to live. Everything has worked out really well for us and it feels as if I am waiting for life to throw the big BUT at me. I'm waiting for something to go wrong. Is that normal? :roll

Oh yes - definately normal. Funny thing is .... a year and a half down the line, I'm still waiting for the 'BUT'.
Ups and downs put to one side, everything you are going through will be worth it. Even if things turn out different to how you plan you will never have any 'what ifs' hanging over your heads.
Good luck for the next 4 weeks, I sure as hell don't envy 28 nights on an air bed !!!!
See you soon.

No, I don't think I am going to be sane at the end of it! Extra wine rations I think..... just to help me sleep, you understand!! :roll ;)

I hope you're right, just the pessimist in me!! All seems to have gone a little too smoothly up until now. :uhoh

Nicola, your post shows just how.....sometimes.....everything can fall neatly into place.
Enjoy the feeling, i'm sure it will be fine (although i don't rate blow up beds for comfort!)
Our stuff departs on 12th Jan - look out for my own 'sleeping on a blow up bed' post (yep, we've got a blow up bed too - it has a slow leak in so we'll have to pump that damn thing up every night until we fly on 18th!!!!!)
Fun, if you like that sort of thing....

It's normal to think that. It's the same when things are bad, you think why is this all happening to me. :no
But it's happening and all going well (apart from the blow up bed) enjoy it and relax in the knowledge you've worked hard for it too. It didn't fall into place just now, you've worked towards this goal for a long time.
AND if you get thrown a BUT, just throw it back. :clap

Thanks everyone! I need to go with the flow and stop worrying about the maybe's. Give it a couple of weeks and if I survive the bed, I bet I will be on here saying how excited I feel! :D

Yes its normal - you're kind of in a no-man's land & you probably feel like a bit of an anti-climax - its stressful sending all your belongings to the other side of the world & all the prep you'll have done sorting, cleaning etc. beforehand (we left our house the night the container went & I cried buckets because its the place I thought we were going to be for the next 20 years & its was hard saying goodbye - even though we had such an exciting time ahead of us & I didn't want to stay in the UK!)
It'll all change the minute you get to the airport to set off!! 'Till then, as previously suggested, drink plenty of wine, keep warm & just enjoy seeing your friends/family one last time before the big trip!! :D

So nearly there Nicola. Hang on in and get through this limbo of neither being here or there and it will be fine. Fingers crossed it continues to go so smoothly for you.

Well, if this turns out to be the only thing to go wrong I will be happy! It's a cold night and I am camping in my house..... and the boiler has just packed in! We are cold and have no hot water. Looks like I am getting an early practice for living ina NZ house!!! :uhoh
Thanks for all the lovely replies, I actually feel better today! :D
