When we left the UK my application was still being processed and today one month later - we're aproved in principle ... I can't tell you what a relief it is.
It has been a long time since I was able to post here and a lot has happened..
We sent our household stuff in a container a week before we left and decided to have a little holiday on the way over. We travelled through Boston, Niagara, New York, Los Angeles, Arizona, Grand Canynon - phew! It was amazing.
Since we arrived in NZ (on visitor's visas with a return airline ticket in hand) it has been all go. We stayed with friends till we found a rental, found a school for the girls and explained that my permit hadn't come through yet - lucky for me the headteacher was very relaxed and understanding.
We have been 'skyping' everyone with a webcam and I would have to strongly recommend it to anyone emigrating. My parents are just sooo happy that they can see and chat to the girls - it's just like having visitors come round.
Finally - Our stuff arrived on time, one small MAF inspection later and we're good to go!
So, if any of you are thinking of coming to Meadowbank/Remuera in Auckland and I can be of any help - just let me know.
Now - does anyone know if I have to send my levy and passports back to my Visa Officer in London or can I get the stamps here in Auckland? I would phone and ask him but it's the weekend and I'm impatient!
Hope to catch up with a few of you in Devonport,
Dawn, Wayne, Eleanor and Olivia
