Let me preface this by saying we're carless and we're not about to moving all of our crap through the city on foot =)

We have about 6 suitcases and about 10 boxes of stuff we need moved inside CBD.

I'm searching for a small moving company (do they call them removal companies?). Something like two men, a small van and about 2 hours worth of work.

Thanks in advance,

Justin

Justin

You could try the ads in the Dom Post, I think on Weds and Saturdays, near the to let pages.

Some removal firms have a small van they use for that kind of stuff. Conroys charged us $90 to collect to large sofa's from Churton Park and deliver to Eastbourne, Mana Transport are similar.

There's often adverts on the boards in New World too, by the entrance. A man with a van kinda thing.

Or there's this http://manwithavan.co.nz/ although I've not used them.

If you want to do it yourself you can hire a small van from somewhere like Piggy Packers (although they are in Porirua) for about $80. There must be similar in the yellow pages.

Hi Justin,

We were recommended a company called Cool Moves who are in Wellington although we made them come all the way out to Paraparaumu for our move. They have a website with prices (www.coolmoves.co.nz) etc but they charge by the quarter hour which is handy if you've only a few things to move.
They were indeed 'two men and a van' and they were very efficient.
