We are hoping to move from Perth to somewhere in the Bay of Plenty in February 2007. I am now looking into budget accomodation for our first week or so... has anyone got any ideas??
The holiday rentals are a bit expensive and we have two children in tow so a hostel is out of the question.
We are looking to settle somewhere around Taurangua - maybe Papamoa...
We do not want to spend unnecessarily as we did when we moved to Aus!

Many hostels with a large youth hostel association have family rooms and kitchens, so unless you are dead set against it, it may be worth at least checking out. I've seen plenty of families while hosteling.

the other option (if the schools here have gone back) is to look at the camping grounds, say top 10 ones, as many of them have basic cabins. beds and kitchen area but you may need to have own cutlery,plates etc.
