How NZIS London informs when a case officer is assigned to your case?
Is it by official letter or email?
I was told by NZIS call center the name of my officer and contact details...but nothing officially.
Is there any reason to worry about?
Thank you

Hi, marin76! I think there is nothing to worry about, from what you have said. Indeed, it is nice that you were told the name and contact details over the phone.
You will probably find that the name will come quite soon by way of a letter or e-mail pertaining to your case. The case officer will introduce her/himself as your point of contact, and might even quote a new kind of case number by which you can refer to your case from now on.
By the way, you might find that communications from your CO are quite brief and purely on an 'as needed' basis -- for example, when the CO wants to arrange your interview or has a specific question about your application.
This all happened for us about two years ago, so sorry if my information is inaccurate. But I think this might well be the way it will happen for you.
All the very best!

They have dispensed with the formal letter from your case officer on allocation in order to lessen their workload a bit as they have been very busy lately. We were told this when I enquired to find out where mine was.
You will only hear from your case officer if he needs more info from you or when he tells you the outcome of your application. Looking at your sig you have been waiting for ages! Hope you get good news soon.

Thank you all of you for the valuable information
Today I sent an email to my CO if there is a timeframe for the final decision on my application. I hope she might answer me....:(
Can you tell me how long does it take from the moment of assigning a CO to the interview approximately
Thanks,
Marin

Marin, I was interviewed by phone on 2 Oct. '06, about six days after receiving the first contact from my CO. She did just as described above -- sent a short email introducing herself and asking for dates/times to schedule the call. This happened before the recent backlog of applications processing, though, which everyone says has been huge. Also, if there are no unanswered questions about an ITA the interview can obviously happen more quickly -- I think COs must love the ones they can get off their desks without delay. I'm sure NZIS have turnaround goals and metrics for their work output like we do . . .
Good luck with your interview --
Sarah

Marin, sorry, I should have looked at your signature too -- I don't think my reply makes any sense, based on the timeframe you've already experienced. My apologies --
Sarah
