Hello...trying to get papers sorted for arrival of ITA...whenever that is...and I wonder if there will be an email telling of the ITA's impending arrival?

Or will the postman just drop it off one day? Does it arrive regular mail or special delivery?

Also, after "decision successful," how long is the average time for receiving the ITA? I think the times have varied a lot in the past, but there seems to be a backlog in recent months with London office...is there a way to estimate ITA arrival time? Our EOI was selected 25 October and we got "decision successful" notice three weeks after that. I'm actually in no hurry as I want to continue getting papers sorted.

Thanks.

Christine

Hi Christine,

Our ITA arrived 2 weeks following our expression of interest being successful, we had no prior warning that it was on it's way, and it was sent via special delivery - that was from the London office. I think it may take a little longer if you don't have a job offer.

We are still waiting to see if we will get PR, our ITA arrived the beginning of July!! We've had a couple of medical problems which have now been sorted, so hopefully we should here any day now..

Good luck with your application.

It appears that London is starting to catch back up on their workload - we were selected on September 27, got Decision Successful on November 6 (the date of the letter with our ITA) and received our paclet on November 17. All of these times are faster than those shown on the London Branch website. I would expect your packet to show up (certified mail, so you need to sign) shortly.

Thanks...that helps me a lot...and it lights a fire under me to get things done!!! Sorting NZQA/ teacher cert requirements in NZ is part of the problem because that requires additional and duplicate paperwork from ITA. Yikes! so much to do!

:raebanana It's all pretty exciting, though, isn't it?

Oh yeah, never boring! I just received three different employment verification letters and one of my college transcripts today - now I have to assemble the docs for self-employment and for the last company I worked for (.com'ed out of existence in 2001  )

I got my ITA one month after my EOI being selected. This is in NZ and do not know elsewhere.
The ITA arrived in regular mail,

Hi there Christine,

If you have a look at my signature you'll be able to see the length of time it took from being selected to receiving our ITA. Almost exactly 3 months. That's without a job offer. Let's hope they grant PR a lot quicker than that!

My ITA arrived today!!!!!!!!! It has only been six weeks since we were selected from the pool...dbonnett, you are right, I guess London office is catching up on their backlog!

I did have to sign for it at the post office because I was not home when the delivery person came by today.

... now I have a zillion things to get done in the next four months. I don't know whether to be excited or anxious!!!

The ITA letter is for Nov. 16 and I just got the ITA yesterday. So, we don't have four months at all, but barely three?? That doesn't seem fair!

is this normal?

Hi Christine. Congrats on gettingthe ITA!

I don't know the details, but I have seen that some people who are missing one piece of extra information (like an NZQA assessment of your qualifications or a police report from another country in which they've lived for a time) have been able to turn in their ITA without it and send that last bit of paperwork in as soon as they have it. They will expect you to have your regular US police reports, medicals, proof of work experience, etc... done on time, but there should be a little leeway if you are doing NZQA. Someone else with more experience on this could probably tell you more.

Thanks, Jess. I am hopeful that you are correct on this. I am at the mercy of people who need to get documents to me regarding my work history, etc., so hopefully NZIS will understand if I don't get NZ Teacher Council cert before the ITA is due.

I really didn't know that the clock starts ticking on the ITA as soon as "decision successful" is posted online. I had no idea!!! Warning to others!!!

Just wanted to say that in my ITA letter it says (bottom of 2nd page)

For your application for residence to be accepted it must be recieved, (together with all of the specified accompanying documents), within four months from the date of this letter.

Not sure if the official ITA letters are generally printed the day of 'decision successful' or not. Anyhow, I hope it all works out for you!

Hi

I thought I wouldn't have my nurse cert in time and emailed the case officer to see if I could submit the ITA without it.
She was very nice and said they could start processing and checking everything else meantime and just stick something in the cover letter saying what was missing and why.

Thanks, everyone. Maybe it was just a coincidence that my ITA letter was dated the same day as "decision successful" appeared online. In any case, it took it quite a few days to get here from London, and that time was coming off my four months.

I'll certainly check with my case officer just so that person knows that I'm putting a bit in my cover letter regarding delay on teaching certs--I think you are all right that if I've applied and it is being processed, teaching cert shouldn't ruin the whole ITA deadline.

Thanks again!!

Wanted to share my experience re: incomplete ITAs -- when mine was due my police report still hadn't come back from the FBI, but I just mentioned this in the cover letter and there was no problem. I didn't have a case officer assigned at that point so I addressed it to the "Skilled Migrant Team" and that seemed to be good enough. Good luck with your application --
