Hi all,
Well what a week we're having eh!!! :eek
We've got our PR today passports and everything with return visa etc. :raebanana :raebanana :raebanana :raebanana :raebanana :raebanana
Relieved and elated! :P
It seems years since we started this process and after our EOI was declined back in April we had lost momentum a bit.
When September came ( A sad time after the loss of a baby 12 months before) and we were still here we kicked ourselves up the proverbial and knuckled down to making that dream a reality for us
It seems to have happened very quickly from then.
We got all our documents and registrations and meds etc before applying again in October and this seems to have speeded us up a bit.
However, we kept in contact regularly with our case worker who was a star all through and I think her diligence and the fact that we were people to her rather than an EOI number really helped the process.
In Oct we rang her to say 'what do we do now, - Work, residency or what' and she reinstated our EOI and it has been just been a total of about 6 weeks to getting our PR( 2 weeks to collect further bits - they recieved our stuff 20 Oct). She was working to the timescale of my job and our leaving/flight dates but I do feel she's been MAGNIFICENT to us.
I also need to add I had a job and am on the POL as a nurse.
I am soooooooooooooo excited and after the last two weeks with car trouble and havig to move in 2 weeks time it is such a lift and nothing seems so insurmountable and difficult anymore. :yes
GOOD GOD WE WILL DEFINATELY BE STARTING A NEW LIFE IN 2005
thats amazing to me - mind blowing. :eek
Lucy was charging around with her passport singing " whoa we 're going to New Zealand , Whaoa its another country, Whoa its gonna be really sunny, Whoa and were gonna live by the sea"
Thanks for all the recent support - still gotta pack up etc and move in with the inlaws, sort banking etc but with the pressure off by having the visa it seems less daunting to do those things ( probably won't be saying this in a copule of days when I've come down off my cloud 9 :eek )
Will keep you posted on our moving exploits!
Love Linda

this is just fab! you must be ecstatic!
had begun to think the eoi process was a money-maker for nz revenue and that there is no such thing as pr. if hadn't lived there i'd be thinking nz didn't actually exist but is just one of those mad schemes in the back of private eye. now know better thanks to you.
the fun begins... good luck with everything and all the best to you and yours.

Congrats Linda and Ali
Linda, am I right in thinking that you're going to be working at Middlemore Hospital? Hubby works there. I'm sorry we won't get to meet, as we're heading down south. I'm sure you're going to enjoy it. Apparently it's a lot less stressful than the NHS. Be cautious when deciding where to live, as traffic is somewhat congested during peak times. Can be a bit tricky, especially if Ali works in the city, but anywhere central will do.
Today Auckland is a balmy 20 degrees. It's gorgeous, feels just like summer. Good luck with the preparations.
