I had an ASB Omni Gold account, which I'd opened from the UK. It was one of those where you didn't have fees as long as you kept a certain amount in it. But they seem to have scrapped this and changed it for a fee paying account, I haven't checked out the small print but I assume I'm worse off.
Anyone else been changed over? Are you staying with ASB?
Any suggestions for any good accounts to use over here, which allow a simple way to transfer money from the UK, (with ASB I have a london transfer account), with no or low charges?
Cheers

I got a printout from them. I did a one transaction and was charged for the following: IRD: Tax in Interest - 7 NZD, Charges For October: 12NZD.
I just hope it was taken once and will not happen next months. Later I transfered all money into Fastsaver to get better interest rate.

We use the Streamline a/c, or what was the streamline a/c, it has no fees, but no interest either, so we put any spare into the fastsaver. Only prob is if you want to pay money in over the counter, you get charged $3...
I pay it into bubs a/c cos its free! Then transfer it out online...

If you use a streamline ASB account there are no charges at all if you use statement stopper. Bascially stop having paper statements and the account is free unless you do something over the counter, like Sal says.
The only other charge is for a net code release fee, which is a text message security thing, when you pay by fastcheque online (bank transfer), thats .25 cents or to set up a bill payment first time, thats $2.00 one off fee.
Thats compared to our BNZ accounts where the charges were around $15.00 -20.00 monthly each.

Yep we do the same as Sal & Smiler - we use streamline - no fees if you do the statement stopper - we only pay a fee on our c/card because you can't stop the statement on that one.

Another vote for the Streamliner A/C ;)
Like everyone else, we have a Fast Saver A/C that we keep most of the funds in.
Slighty OT but we just had HIFX pay some money into the account (from Nationwide) and the tranaction from phone call to cash took 1 week. No bad.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I'll look into all that.
One thing I do like about ASB is their rewards on their credit card, I now tend to put everything on Credit Card rather than EFTPOS and then change the rewards for Farmers Vouchers. Any of the other credit cards have a decent reward scheme?

I have a BNZ credit card that is linked to Fly Buys. Like you, I pay for most things on credit now just to get the points!
