Hello there, my husband and I moved to NZ from South Africa - Queensburgh in KZN to be exact, this year in October. We both found great jobs in our fields within a month of arriving here. Work permits took some time to get approved though - so south african rands were starting to run low.
All is well now. We live in Mt Eden and we love it here. The only thing is missing home. I havent yet devised a plan to get over the homesickness but I have found that calling home and chatting to your friends and family is quite helpful.
Other than that, we are extremely happy here. I have never felt this 'free' before. we go for walks in Cornwall Park, we go out into the City late at night, we park one of our cars outside and we dont have any burglarguards in our home - How great is that!
Well, my advice to anyone who wants to come here is.... Go for it! Dis die beste ding wat jy nooit will doen. - my afrikaans sucks but if youre from SA sal jy verstaan
