Can any Aucklanders help please? I don't know the area at all well.

I've been rash and booked tickets to Varekai in Feb with the in laws. MIL has always wanted to see Cirque du Soleil and I've done this as a surprise. :raebanana

We're driving up, because to fly would cost around $1200 return :exit.

I've had a google, but can anyone recommend anywhere to stay in the Epsom or surrounding area's please?

Smiler ..........you must come over to our place

Same goes for me, don't think you can come to Auckland and not say hello!

Will have a look see later for you, what kind of price bracket are you looking in?

Waipuna Lodge springs to mind, its not too far away, and it has lovely views over panmure basin, and its right by Sylvia Park too.... never been inside though.. so cant say what its like to stay in.

There is also a Best Western on Ellerslie Panmure Highway (this is much closer to the showgrounds) hubby stayed there on his first night in NZ.

If you want any more help, yell

Plenty in that area :) Search for Mt Eden (just down the road) and that should get you a few motels. If you want a "hotel" then the Novotel and Ibis are 5 mins away as well.

Thanks guys :nice1

Marie, I'll be talking to Cap'n Smiths descendant and only one of us will have seen his bath and bedroom ;). I'll bring my photo's.

But we'll have the out laws with us, so there'll be four of us. (At least it's not the wicked stepmother of the west .)

OH's Mum and hubby are absolutely lovely. It's a bit of a detour really, but I know she's always wanted to see this and I got a nagging today from OH for booking :laugh but bottoms to him eh? If I don't book stuff he'll be leaving everything to the last minute and 'winging it' and we'll go nowhere.

Sal I hadn't got as far as price bracket, needed CPR after flight prices. I'll have a looksee at the lodge place, was just thinking of somewhere clean and quiet for the night.
