hi,
you can get copies of your certificates from city and guilds(~£34). There is no point having city and guilds compare your qualifications as NZQA wont accept the response. To get your qualifications accepted without NZQA assessment you would require parts 1&2 AND your deed of apprenticeship this would then be equivalent to level 3 ( beware this changed recently and some out of date literature still says level 4)
If you need NZQA to assess them - a pre-assesment is ~NZ$75. carpenters require a level 3 ( or higher) so you will need NZQA to assess your qualifaications as level 3 or above or you wont get any points. It may be worth paying for full assesment prior to putting in your EOI as you will need to get this done anyway if they are used to gain points in your EOI. You should note that to get any bonus points you need to be on the skills shortage list which requires a level 4.
the other alternative is travel to New Zealand on a tourist visa, get a job offer once there and then apply.

thx Renew for the reply, so this part 1 &2 of c&g is that both the craft and advanced craft cert. as i got the craft cert but failed 2out of 3 on the advanced i got proof of apprenticeship as i still work for the same local authority (think its gold watch nxt year) and do immigration only consider carpenters of level 4 and above and if i had a job offer would it make any difference with the lack of qualications

Hi,
a job offer gains you 50 points. The expression of interest stage is all points based. You will need over 140 points to get selected automatically. However most selections those with >100 points and a job offer get selected.
I think to get points for your qualifications you will need them assessed by NZQA at level 3 or higher. The operations manual is very specific about the City and Guilds that can be accepted without NZQA assesment"The City and Guilds Part One and Part Two Certificates named below, together with evidence of a completed apprenticeship registered with a recognised industry body, are assessed as occupying Level 3 of the Register and will therefore qualify for 50 points.
Note: Visa and immigration officers must ensure that the Part Two Certificate is a full qualification (usually three components). Individual components of the Part Two qualification may be separately certificated. Most full Part Two certificates require completion of three components." They can also be very fussy over recognised industry body.
you can have a look at the expression of interest guide below if you are new to all this

good luck

If there are any parts of the city and guilds missing they will not assess them at the required level for you to gain any points. If you can get selected with a job offer I wouldn't waste your money getting them assessed. (see my post on your other thread)
