Well we have until Saturday until we fly. We arrive in Auckland at quarter to midnight New Years Eve! Spooky!
Everything is as done as it can be (except our luggage is over weight!) I am gutted about the exchange rate but hey ho not a lot to be done there. Thanks to all who have helped me get this far.... my life would have been a lot harder without you all. I can't wait to meet up with people on the other side. I am restricted to my time on the computer as everyone else wants a turn!
Good luck to all those making this journey in the next couple of weeks. I hope I will be posting for the next couple of days but if not…. See you soon! :clap :clap :clap

Congrats to you----we'll be leaving Saurday as well and celebrating new year's eve aboard Qantas (Los Angeles to Auckland). I am excited, but terrified because we have yet to make a decision about where we'll be living. I've booked hotels etc in Dunedin and Christchurch for a short while, scheduled some interviews but need to make some decisions because we have two kids who'll need to start school somewhere and I have no idea where we'll be!   I've never done anything like this in my life--travel around the world to "see what happens" We had been all set to stay in Wellington and then something told me not to make that decision until I saw the South Island. Keep your fingers crossed. I'll post when we get there.

Nicola and family
All the very best for the next few days. You've got this far and there's not long to go now. What a brilliant time to arrive in NZ and start your new lives in a new year.
It's not goodbye to those you are leaving in the UK, it's just a 'see you later'. I hope it's not too hard. :(
Have a safe journey and hopefully we can catch up sometime, when you are settled in HB.

PS Elizabeth , all the best for a safe journey to you too. :cheers

Thank you all for your good wishes. We are all feeling very excited now. I went and did a good shop today as we have decided to ship some of our heavy stuff separately. We have found a company who will ship 40kg for around £100 and for us it’s worth it as we really don’t want to throw ant more stuff away.
I can’t wait to meet up with people on the other side! :D

Nicola and family, enjoy the flight and see you very soon!
Elizabeth, good luck! Our schools don't go back until Feb 7 and Feb 9 respectively, so you have a few weeks to look around and decide. Starting school can be really quick: we arrived on the monday, visited school on the wednesday and they could have started on the thursday, but we gave them an extra day so we could get uniforms sorted. They were still in within our first week!
Happy New Year in New Zealad!

ooooh, now that could be handy for me! would you be able to tell me the company (when you get a minute to sit and think and relax, of course - I'm in no rush)

I seem to have a spare mo now! Ian and the boys are having a game of cards so peace!! :D
The company are Seven Seas 0800 21 66 98 or www.sevenseasworldwide.com
Much better value than the Post Office who wanted £89.00 for 10 kg :roll
