Hi, folks. Bear with me while I ask more questions! I'm just now having time to fully get into putting the ITA materials together, and it is a headache!

I have to have full NZQA qualification because of teachers council registration.

I need a "complete, official academic syllabus /curriculum" from the university where I got my teacher training/degree.

What, exactly, must I supply?? I have the course book somewhere (!!) from the year I started college; hence, I followed those course requirements. Do I need to get the course book information copied and certified?? Or does the uni have some other way to show what the curriculum requirements where back in the mid-90's??

Additionally, I need to show "system of support and appraisal for teacher progress" at my university during training.

Again, what am I to send? Should I request a copy of my entire teaching portfolio from university?

This seems like so much trouble!! :no

Any suggestions or like stories will be appreciated.

Hi Chris

I can only tell you what we did for Mr Rr coming as a teacher from the UK.

1. "complete, official academic syllabus /curriculum" from the university where I got my teacher training/degree."

In the UK these are generally referred to a transcripts - they are basically a list of all the courses / units / modules / classes / papers that you studied for, the year in which you did them and the mark / grade / assessment you acheived. We phoned / emailed the Registry of the relevant universities and asked them to send us a copy Mr Rr's transcripts. Some of them charged GBP10 or so. We supplied NZQA with transcripts and certificates for all three Uni courses (undergrad degree, masters and post grad teaching cert) as they are all relevant to his teaching.

2. "system of support and appraisal for teacher progress" at my university during training."

This will partly be answered by your transcript of your teaching degree / certificate / whatever - which should show the teaching practice that you did as part of your teacher training and whether you 'passed' them. You should ask the uni to specify what schools you did your training in, what type of school, how long the duration of each was, and what your appraisal was - pass / fail or whatever.

"This seems like so much trouble!!"

Hey you're a teacher - dealing with pointless and time-consuming paperwork should be second nature to you!! Hope that helps

Ruthyroo,

Thanks! OK...I understand "transcripts," but I guess I was reading too much into the wording on the form! :p

"Hey you're a teacher - dealing with pointless and time-consuming paperwork should be second nature to you!! "

Yes...mindless paperwork is what I get paid to do mostly! It is endless!!

Thanks so much for your help! :D
