I wasn't going to post this, but then it dawned on me that when I was in the UK I loved seeing pictures of NZ life, locations etc. So......here is a link to some pics of us celebrating Boxing Day with some friends on Eastern Beach.

Our visitors were Marie P & Dave, Babette & Andy, Steve & Lynne (Miggy) and Dan and Sue (The Piesleys), plus of course all the kids.

Happy New Year to all. :cheers

Hope you all enjoyed your first Xmas in Auckland - shame about the summer so far though (did you bring the winter with you?).

Nice one Steve - the beach looked great. You will no doubt be impressed with my tally on the fishing trip. None.

Even Max caught two, and Dave was reeling them in for fun. :wah

Thanks for sharing those piccies. You know Babs, I think we may just be there by then!!! LOL

Looking forward to it, btw, was that water cold??? Looks very inviting but notice no adults had the nerve to go bounding in....

I suppose I should put a picture on of huge raindrops dancing on the flags outside, or maybe complain about the huge thunderstorm we had last night
Thunder, at Xmas??

Think thoughts differ on the temperature of the water:- kids loved it (as you can see) Adults not too sure. I thought it was freezing, but as normal with sea water you get used to it after a while. But being our first Christmas here, we simply HAD to give it a go!!

Great pics. looks like you all had a lot of fun ;)

We also went to Eastern Beach on Boxing Day in the afternoon for a picnic and to enjoy the sunshine. I thought the water was freezing :exit - although partner's nephew was just on his body board happily swimming around :D After the beach went for a game of touch rugby with partner's family at Lloyd Ellsmore park in Howick, very nice.

The weather was really great and the beach wasn't as packed as I thought it would be.
