Time I said hello - I've been lurking for a while and reading through the wealth of useful info on the forum. Seems like a nice community here.

I'm a 30-something bloke currently living in Suffolk, England. I've been here 10 years, but grew up in Africa. Never really got used to UK winters and I'm looking to move on again. I've always wanted to see New Zealand, so some time in 2007 I plan to use my leave to do a 3 week scouting trip, see if I like it (I know I will), and do a bit of job hunting - I'm a writer and travel editor by profession.

If all goes to plan on the trip, in the long term I'll leave UK and aim to spend 6 months in NZ. I am a bit short on points for the skilled migrant route - I get between 95 and 130 depending on how things are interpreted - so a job offer would probably swing it, or I may try the WTR route. But for now I'm just reading up on it all, and taking heart from the many success stories from people on here.

Welcome to the forum :raebanana

We know of a British journalist who came here as tourist and she got a job offer from a magazine publisher.

Good luck with your emigration :cheers
