Hi guys,

Iv'e tried to find the answer but haven't managed so I shall ask anyway.

We are hoping to recieve our ITA asap as my OH has had his start date for work changed from July 07 onwards to 9th April!!!! We need to sell our house asap, anyhow Im trying to be prepared and gather the req'd info that needs to be certified by our helpfull soliciter. So I believe it's all the ID stuff we filled in for the EOI, passports etc. My question is, do these things just need photocopied and certified that they are indeed us or does the person have to be able to say they have known us for a period of time. Our soliciter has offered to do it free if it's just certification. Also maybe sounds dumb but how many copies of each item do i take and does the ITA state how the certification is worded? I think it may be kinder for her if we write out the long sentence and she can just sign at the end. I have seen on other threads something about an assessment, does this apply if there is a job offer? Again is this a lengthy process as time is somewhat against us.

Hope this is clear as mud, thanks Amanda x

Hi

I just took all the documents into a solicitors, they didn't know me, they photocopied all the documents and stamped them with "certified as a true copy" and signed it.
I think they are just confirming that it's a genuine passport / birth certificate and not one you made yourself.
If your friend will do it for free the you'll save a small fortune!

Good Luck!

Just read the rest of your post. You shouldn't need to be assessed (if you mean interviewed) with a job offer.

Not sure I'm totally understanding but when you receive your ITA you'll need to send back original copies of, well, everything! If you haven't got original copies then you can take a photocopy, say, to your solicitor, and they can sign it to say it is basically not a forgery(!) and you can then submit that to NZIS as if it was the original. The solicitor will know what you're on about - they do this all the time and will know the correct wording to use.

Hope this helps...

I think if you send certified copies, you will still eventually need to send you actual passports to get blue stickers. Hope that's right, I read it on here somewhere, a while back. :o

Yes, Ana is absolutely right. What I said won't apply to your passports (just ancilliary info like qualifications/certificates and the like).
