Hello all,

I decided to write a quick message and what better place to write it after all this time than in here. I have not been here for over half a year, more then 8 months even. We were supposed to leave for NZ in april, but medical conditions and my father passing away prevented us from leaving then and things got postponed for 6 months.
November 16 we arrived in Auckland, we have travelled around New Zealand for the past 2 months and are now back in Auckland ready for settling.
Looking for a rental first, Auckland Red Beach area if all goes well, keep fingers crossed please!? Anyone have any knowledge of that area and Orewa college perhaps?
Anyway I don't have much time, it's almost midnight and I have adapted to going to bed earlier here, am I right that the days ARE shorter here? Must be that we live 12 hours into the future huh? :D
Oh and maybe I should change my name from Hannah-NL to Hannah-NZ?
Hmm have to think about that....

I'm sorry to hear again of all the problems that prevented you in arriving in NZ earlier, especially your father passing away. That must have been very hard and big hugs to you there.

It's good to hear you have mananged to pick up your plans though and that you are at last enjoying NZ. I can't help with the Auckland rentals stuff but would just like to say..............

I hope this New YEar Brings you all the happinnes you and your family deserve. I live in the north shore and Red beach places are very similar it all depends how many rooms u want and if u want an unit or a house...We rent an unit of 2 rooms and is 280pw

Sorry, can't help you with your questions, but welcome back.

I hope that you enjoyed your time travelling around NZ, it sounds like you needed it and it is good to read how positive you are about settling in Auckland.

Thanks all, must have been your good vibrations, we got the rental we wanted, 3 bedrooms, an office, 2 bathrooms, one ensuite, 2 toilets, dbl garage, ok a bit on the high side of the market, but we needed a rental where you can have your dogs as well, and we have two so that's a bit hard to find a rental... But we'll be ok, now we have time to settle in at ease and then find our way around and have the kids settle in at school... after all these months living like gypsies, ah like I saw in one of the footers, you only have one life, gotta LIVE it!!!

Singel/Ivy, I'm going to give you a call soon, I promise, we might have to arrange a housewarming party, or is that not kiwi like ;O)
