Hi,

My wife and I are thinking to buy a piece of land (0.5 - 1 hectares) and build a 4 bedroom house (single floor) with a small green house.

Anybody has any idea on how much will it cost approximately in '000 NZD in suburban / rural area in the northwestern part of Bay of Plenty region?

Hi Rockyhopper,
It really depends on where the section is and whether it is flat land or sloping. A sloping section or a section with the wrong ground for building on will cost more in building costs ( See my thread on housing information.) If you go into this website www.realestate.co.nz select bay of plenty and residential section then all the sections available will come up. Many of these have a price but this is only a rough guide as you may be involved in more expense to get the land ready for building (services etc) but this will give you an idea. Depending on what you require in your house a rough build price to work on is $1500 per square metre. Look on this website for an idea www.buildyourdream.co.nz. You then have to consider council charges etc.Once again all this info can be found on my housing information thread
