My son is leaving on Feb 7th and still hasn't got anyone to ship his stuff over there. Has anyone got any advice on the best and most reliable shippers available please and any info on dog and cat shippers also. He is leaving the animals here for a month and then they will be shipped out to him when he settles in there. There seems to be so many companies available to do these tasks that he is quite confused about it all and would appreciate some pointers in that direction. Hope you don't mind me asking for him but we will need to know ourselves when we are up to this stage.......Janet

Where is he Janet, then someone might be able to suugest a good company in the area.
Failing that - it's copy of the yellow pages and getting them all in for quotes. See which one you like for price etc and book! :nice1

He lives in York and I think he has got one or two quotes but is quite confused over it all. He is also mortified over his pet dog who he adores. He is leaving the dog and the cat here for a month until they get somewhere to settle over there and then he is getting his in laws to send them out to him. I guess he is at the stage now when it is getting nearer and is panicking a little although he wouldn't admit it LOL (when he goes and gets settled then we apply so I just wish he would hurry up and get there LOL...... thanks smiler, Janet

Hi Janet, Steve here, Jani D's DH!
Removals wise, try Robinsons (0800 833638) or John Mason (0151 449 3938), there is also Britannia but I not got their number.
Pet wise, it is either Golden Arrow or Airpets. Their numbers are on here somewhere if you do a search.
Good luck, don't know if Jan has told you our situation on UKS but we are getting near now, and I think she has sent you details of the meet in Warrington next month.
Catch you soon.

we used ladyhayes for shipping the dogs over and they were fine. not sure if its practical to use a london based one for you guys though. You will need that month with the dog to get all the necessary tests done.

Janet, we're from Harrogate so he would quite possibly be getting quotes from the same local companies that we did. Can I just say, do not even contemplate using Bishop's Move (they're in Sherburn, Leeds)!! I wish we'd gone with Whites now, but hindsight's a great thing! Sorry can't help re shipping pets. Hope all goes well.
