Hi
The Waikato summers can be very humid so a swimming pool might be a nice idea!
Summer in NZ last year was not so good (a lot of rain!), fingers crossed this year will be better! :nice1

Hey, Matamata! :nice1 what will you be doing here? (yes, I am born and bred in matamata!) I must say I have never thought of Matamata as an international retiree centre!?
Swimming pools here... hmm..., yeah, sure, a few folks have them, from Jan to april they will be usefull, but over winter, unless you plan on having them heated, forget it! Maybe occasionally as ice rinks...
There are plenty of public pool options though... the Matamata public pools are very nice (crowded over summer though of course) but the hot springs out Tower Road (crystal springs) or the hot pools at Okoroire are great for a year round hot soak in mineral water.
cheers, Stu.
