has anyone heard of skillsnz www.skillsnz.co.nz they are a company based in christchurch they say that they help immigrants find a job and help them through the immigration process. are they any good or is it one of those company's that promise the world and you don't end up with anything and they do a :exit it costs about £160 uk pounds so what do you guy's think?
any thoughts would be much appreciated

Agencies, some good some bad, but why you have to pay is beyond me. The employers are supposed to pay the agent, and in my book, if they ask you for money to find a job then don't touch them with a barge pole (unless someone on here has experience of them) that is good advice.

Try jobseek or seek.co.nz -- they got thousands of jobs, and you can set up alerts etc. And it is all FREE!!

hmmm that was my thoughts steve but i did wonder if the charge was for helping you through the immigration process too either to gain a working visa or pr cos we know how much work is needed for that!!!! lol :D

you'll end up doing just as much work if you use an agency - after all you've still got to get the paperwork together, apply for police certs, go for the medicals. there is very little a company can actually do for you.

One of the Christchurch companies went broke at the end of last year and left lots of people out of pocket and with no job. I know that they straight away started a new company up, and I am not saying this is the one, but be wary.

If you do a forum search you may find the article/thread about it.
