Hi,
as we are now back on track (keeping everything crossed!), I was wondering if anyone could tell me how much medicines/prescriptions are in NZ???
I take a few for allergies / asthma (ventolin/becotide/zirtek/bendrofluozide) and my wife has to take thyroxine and alphacalcidol (calcium tablets) for her condition. Can anyone give me examples of prices for these items???
Any help as usual much appreciated
Thanks very much
Nick

Sure other can help on this, as far i am aware from my own GP that prescriptions are $6 per items, but it is varied, depend on what medications it is and where about you are. If you have low paid, you can get it discount under community service card.
Check with medsafe www.medsafe.govt.nz if your medications is available in NZ or might be under another names, like my children's piriton for allergies is not heard of but under another names and they are in different conc, so read the label! Some medications (like mine) are high risk as not available or recognised in NZ, so I suggest to check with medsafe, but i can see that all of them should be ok as seen them in the chemists that you can buy it without dr's and i have calcium tablets too, no problem.
